Hobby Wing 25A Brushless ESCFeatures:

  • Safety Arming Feature: Regardless the Throttle Stick position, the motor will not spin after battery is connected. This will prevent any injury happening.
  • Throttle Calibration: Throttle range can be configured to provide best throttling linearity, fully compatible with all market available transmitters.

  • Programmable Items:
    • Brake Settings:brake enabled / brake disabled, default is brake disabled
    • Battery Type:Li-xx(Li-ion or Li-poly) / Ni-xx(NiMh or Nicd),default is Li-xx.
    • Low Voltage Protection Mode(Cutoff Mode) :power reducing / power cutoff, default is power reducing.
    • Low Voltage Protection Threshold(Cutoff Threshold) :low / medium / high, default is medium cutoff voltage.
      • For Li-xx battery,number of battery cells are judged automatically,low / medium / high cutoff voltage for each cell are: 2.5V/2.75V/3.0V. For example: 3 Cell Li-Poly, when medium cutoff voltage is set, the cutoff voltage is: 2.75*3=8.25V.
      • For Ni-xx battery, low / medium / high cutoff voltages are 60%/65%/70% of the startup voltage. For example: 6 cell NiMH battery, fully charged voltage is 1.44*6=8.64V, when low cutoff voltage is set, the cutoff voltage is : 8.64*60%=5.2V?
      • Startup mode: normal / soft / super-soft, default is normal startup. · Normal is good for fixed-wing aircraft. Soft / super-soft are good for helicopters. The initial speeds of soft / super-soft mode are very slow, i.e. 1sec(soft startup) / 2secs(super-soft startup) from startup to full speed. But if throttle is closed (throttle stick moves to bottom )and opened again(throttle stick moves up) within 3 seconds after the first startup, the startup will be in normal mode to get rid of the chances of crash caused by slow throttle response in aerobatic fly.

  • Timing: low / medium / high, default is medium timing.
  • In normal cases, low timing can be used for most motors. But for high efficiency, we recommend the Low timing for 2 poles motor and Medium timing for 6 poles and above. For higher speed, High timing could be used.
  • Full Protection Features: Low-voltage cutoff protection / over-heat protection / throttle signal lost protection.

  • Advantages -
    • Military Standard Capacitor with extremely low resistance used on voltage input section, this will increase the prevention of unwanted RF Noise/ Interference during flying.
    • Dual PCBs: Control circuit and MOSFET circuit use separate PCB, adiabatic air gap between 2 PCBs reduces the heat exchange form MOSFET to control circuit, so the ESC works more reliably.

Program Card For Hobby Wing ESC

Program Card For Hobby Wing ESCHobby Wing Program Card for brushless motor electronic speed controller. With this device,you can easily set the programming value of ESC. Now you can just forget the complicated and boring programming method with the throttle stick. HW Program Card has a friendly user interface and is easy to use. It is as small as a business card,so you could put it in your pocket when you are on field.

Features:

Front Panel:

  • Use"up/down" button to select programming item,use"left/right" button to select item value;
  • Brake: When"Brake" is ON, the motor will stop quickly affter the throttle stick is moved to bottom;
  • Low Voltage Protection Mode (Cutoff Type): When "Soft-Cut" is selected, the ESC will reduce the output power; When "Cut-Off" is selected, the ESC will immediately cut off the output power to motor.
  • Low Voltage Protection Threshold (Cutoff Voltage):
    • For Li-ion Or Li-poly battery - number of battery cells are judged automatically,Low/Medium/High cutoff voltage of each cell are: 2.5V / 2.75V/ 3.0V. For example: 3 Cell Li-Poly, when "Medium" cutoff voltage is set, the cutoff voltage is:2.75*3=8.25V.

Connecting Process:

  • Disconnect the power pack from ESC;
  • Disconnect the BEC cable from receiver, then connect it to program card;
  • Connect the power pack to ESC;
  • The LEDs on program card will light, shows the current programming value of the ESC;
    • Remark: THE SEQUENCE OF STEP 2 AND STEP 3 IS IMPORTANT! Please connect the BEC cable to program card first,and then connect the power pack to ESC. Otherwise, the program card cannot work properly.

Operation:
Press " up/down" button, you can select the program item, the corresponding LED will flash. Then press"left/right" button to select the item value, the flashing LED presents the value you select. Finally, press "OK" button, the blue LED will flash, means the programming value is transmitting to ESC. When the data transmission is finished, the blue LED stop flashing and the brushless motor begin to play music, that means the news settings are accepted.
